Why film your wedding in Hull?

Hull’s vibrant waterfront, rich history and modern venues make it an amazing setting for a wedding. It’s East Yorkshire’s port city, and the countryside around it, the East Riding, is full of barns, halls and country venues, some of them on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Hull is about 38 miles from York, so it sits inside my free-travel area and the price I quote is the price you pay. Each wedding I film in Hull captures something of the city, but it’s your story that takes centre stage. I want the film to be as heartfelt and joyful as the day itself, so you can watch it back and feel as if you’re there again.

A wedding film is more than a video. It’s something to keep, and to show your children and grandchildren one day, so I put my effort into the small, unplanned moments as well as the big ones: the laughter in the corner, the quiet word between you and your dad, the dance floor filling up. I got married myself in 2022 and became a dad in 2021, so I know how much these moments come to mean.

Which venues do I film at around Hull?

East Yorkshire has plenty of barn and country venues, and I film at several of them. The Barn at Willerby Hill is just outside Hull, close to Beverley. Bunny Hill at North Cliffe sits on the edge of the Wolds, Barmbyfield Barns is near Barmby Moor, The KP is near Pocklington, and The Grand Lodge at Oaklands is near Brandesburton, where woodland meets a lake.

How do I film a Hull wedding?

Every wedding I film uses at least five cameras and six wireless microphones, backed up three times on the day, with drone footage where the weather and your venue allow. It’s just me on the day, so it stays calm and unobtrusive, and a second shooter is available as an add-on.

I don’t pose you or direct the day. I stay in the background and film what’s really happening, which is why couples tell me the camera never got in the way.

Yorkshire weather does what it wants, so I always have a plan that doesn’t depend on it. Drone shots are a lovely bonus when conditions allow, never a promise, and I’ll never hold up your day waiting for a gap in the clouds.

What does a Hull wedding video cost?

My full-day films start from £1,750. Your exact price depends on your date and venue, so I don’t publish a rate card. There are three packages, and that page shows what each one includes, plus the extras you can add.

Hull is about 38 miles from York and travel is free within 50 miles of York, so you won’t pay anything extra to have me there. Standard delivery is around three months, and it can be longer in peak season. Extras are priced separately: an extra hour of coverage is £175, a second shooter is £495 and express editing with a two-week turnaround is £450.

Booking is secured with a deposit and a signed contract, and the rest is due before the wedding. Afterwards you get a private online gallery with your films ready to download and share in full quality.
