Why film your wedding in the Lake District?

The Lake District’s breathtaking landscapes make it one of the most incredible places to get married, and I love filming in Cumbria. When you watch your film, I want it to feel as if you’re standing on the edge of the lake, or soaring above it from my drone’s point of view, surrounded by the people you love.

It’s a long way from York, well beyond the 50 miles around the city where travel is free, so I’ll quote travel clearly up front, with no inflated day rates for being far from home. If you’re dreaming of a Lake District wedding, tell me your plans early. The sooner I know your date and venue, the sooner I can tell you whether I’m free and what it will cost.

The weather can change quickly in the hills, and I’m always ready for that. Rain or shine, the day is yours: if we can’t go for a walk outside, we take a walk inside. Some of the best moments are the ones nobody planned, and I’m there to catch them.

Every time I film in the Lake District I’m reminded of the area’s timeless quality, and I want to bring that to your film. I want it to reflect both the grandeur of the landscape and the closeness of the two of you, so that when you watch it back you can step straight into those memories.

Can I film at your Lake District venue?

How do I film a Lake District wedding?

Every wedding I film uses at least five cameras and six wireless microphones, backed up three times on the day. Drone footage is included where the weather and your venue allow, and in landscape like this it can make a real difference, so it’s worth asking your venue early. It’s just me on the day, so the film stays calm and unobtrusive, and a second shooter is available as an add-on.

I don’t pose you or direct the day. I stay in the background, keep my kit small and film what’s happening around you, from the first look to the last dance.

What does a Lake District wedding video cost?

My full-day films start from £1,750. Your exact price depends on your date and venue, so I don’t publish a rate card. Instead, the Instant Quote form on my Investment page gives you a personal price for your date and venue. There are three packages, and that page shows what each one includes, plus the extras you can add.

Because the Lake District is well beyond the 50 miles around York where travel is free, I quote travel separately and clearly up front, so there are no surprises. Standard delivery is around three months, and it can be longer in peak season. Extras are priced separately: an extra hour of coverage is £175, a second shooter is £495 and express editing with a two-week turnaround is £450.

Booking is secured with a deposit and a signed contract, and the rest is due before the wedding. Afterwards you get a private online gallery with your films ready to download and share in full quality.
