Why film your wedding in Harrogate?

Harrogate’s timeless elegance makes it a wonderful place to say “I do”. It’s a North Yorkshire spa town with historic architecture and lush gardens, and that mix of grand buildings and green space gives a wedding film plenty to work with, from stone buildings and formal rooms to open lawns and garden paths.

Harrogate is about 22 miles from York, so it’s an easy trip and there’s no charge for travel. The setting does a lot of the work here, so my job is to make sure the film feels like you and your people rather than a brochure. I watch for the small things: the nervous laugh before the ceremony, a grandparent’s hand on a shoulder, the moment a room goes quiet.

Harrogate has plenty of North Yorkshire venues within reach, and I film right across the county. Thirsk Lodge Barns sits in the countryside near Thirsk, Sandburn Hall is at Flaxton just outside York, Howsham Hall is near Malton and The Tithe Barn overlooks the Priory ruins at Bolton Abbey. How do I film a Harrogate wedding?

I use at least five cameras and six wireless microphones on every wedding, backed up three times on the day, with drone footage where the weather and your venue allow. It’s just me on the day, whichever package you choose, so the film is made by one person who knows your story, and a second shooter is available as an add-on.

The wireless microphones mean I can hear your vows and your speeches clearly without hovering next to you. More cameras and better sound are what let me stay in the background, and staying in the background is what gets you natural, unforced moments.

Before your day I walk through the spaces to check the light and the angles, so I know where I need to be for the ceremony and the speeches. On the day I keep an eye on your guests as well as you, because the cheering, the laughing and the selfies are part of the story too.

What does a Harrogate wedding video cost?

My full-day films start from £1,750. Your exact price depends on your date and venue, so I don’t publish a rate card. There are three packages, and that page shows what each one includes, plus the extras you can add.

Harrogate is about 22 miles from York and travel is free within 50 miles of York, so there are no extras to add for getting there. Standard delivery is around three months, and it can be longer in peak season. Extras are priced separately: an extra hour of coverage is £175, a second shooter is £495 and express editing with a two-week turnaround is £450.

Booking is secured with a deposit and a signed contract, and the rest is due before the wedding. Afterwards you get a private online gallery with your films ready to download and share in full quality.
