Why film your wedding in Leeds?

Leeds is a lively, stylish city, and I love filming weddings here. It’s the biggest city in West Yorkshire, and it mixes chic city backdrops with plenty of green space, so a Leeds wedding can go from sharp city lines to leafy parkland in a few minutes. For a documentary film that variety is a gift, because no two Leeds weddings look alike.

Leeds is about 25 miles from York, which puts it well inside the area I cover with no charge for travel. City weddings often mean more than one place in a day, perhaps a church or register office, a stop for photographs, then the reception. I plan around your timeline and keep my kit small and quiet, so when the day moves, I move with it without holding anyone up.

Lots of couples tell me they don’t want a camera in their face, and that’s exactly how I like to work. I don’t pose you and I don’t direct the day. I stay in the background, keep watching what’s happening around you and film it as it unfolds, so the film feels like your day rather than a performance of it.

I’ve been filming weddings for 18 years and I’ve filmed more than 300 of them, so a city day with a few moving parts doesn’t worry me. I’ve been on your side of it too. I got married myself in 2022 and my son arrived in 2021, so I know how much a wedding film comes to mean once the day has passed.

Which venues do I film at within reach of Leeds?

I film across the whole of Yorkshire, so your Leeds venue doesn’t need to be on this page. A couple of places I know well are below. Bert’s Barrow at Hillam is close to Leeds and Selby. I’ve also filmed a wedding with the ceremony at All Saints Church in Otley, in the Leeds district, and the reception at The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey.

How do I film a Leeds wedding?

Every wedding I film uses at least five cameras and six wireless microphones, and everything is backed up three times on the day. Drone footage is included where the weather and your venue allow. It’s just me on the day, whichever package you choose, so it stays calm and unobtrusive, and a second shooter is available as an add-on if you’d like an extra pair of hands. A guest cam gets passed round the party too, so you’ll see the evening through your friends’ eyes as well as mine.

Most people forget I’m there within the first hour, which is exactly what I’m aiming for. I want you to enjoy your day, then watch it back and find moments you never saw.

Before the day I talk through your plans and look at the venue, so I know where the light is best and where I’ll need to be. If I spot something that would look better, like moving your final touch-ups to a big window with natural light, I’ll suggest it quietly, but it’s your day and I won’t stage it.

What does a Leeds wedding video cost?

My full-day films start from £1,750. Your exact price depends on your date and venue, so I don’t publish a rate card. There are three packages, and that page shows what each one includes, plus the extras you can add.

Travel is free within 50 miles of York, and Leeds is well inside that, so the price you’re quoted is the price you pay. Standard delivery is around three months, and it can be longer in peak season. Extras are priced separately: an extra hour of coverage is £175, a second shooter is £495 and express editing with a two-week turnaround is £450.

Booking is secured with a deposit and a signed contract, and the rest is due before the wedding. Afterwards you get a private online gallery with your films ready to download and share in full quality.
